Rice Farm

Rice Farm is dedicated to the local, sustainable, healthy, and humane raising of grass-fed, hormone, and additive free cattle. Established in 1995, Rice Farm is a family affair: for humans and cows alike! Our founding and most basic principle continues to be to provide a stress free, comfortable, and happy life for our livestock. This mission is not only supported but entirely enabled by a customer base with a similar commitment to sustainable agriculture, animal kindness, and superior beef. With an eye towards remaining relevant in this mechanized, competitive industry, Rice Farm is proud to be the first farm in Rhode Island raising Wagyu cattle.

At Rice Farm, our heritage as historical farmland and a commitment to responsible stewardship of the land drive our long-term strategy and vision. With support from our four-hooved partners, we improve the farm’s forage health and soil quality. The cattle’s’ manure augments the organic material available, increasing water carrying capacity, amplifying available nutrients, and feeding the bacteria necessary for healthy land. So fertile are our pastures we avoid any unnatural fertilizers and chemical herbicides. Our cattle rotationally graze seven pastures, allowing sufficient time for the recuperation of their favorite grasses and legumes. When the cold season impedes foraging, our cows enjoy premium, locally grown hay. When not hard at work, these ladies enjoy standing and lying in ponds and under trees, socializing with chickens and turtles, keeping German Sheperds in line, and sunbathing by the water.

While our commitment to the animals and land is essential to all that we do, we prefer to let our product speak for itself.
